The Sounds of Sleep and Tacos

Nsaindon26’s avatar is a deep purple background with 4 z’s surrounding a green circle that is in the center. The z’s are black which contrast the purple background. Within the green circle sits a black dot that serves as the center of the flag. All together the aspects form a simple and clean flag, with a unique design.

The aspect of the flag that first grabbed my attention was the black Z’s. They have a kind of mystery to them that captured my attention and made me wonder what the meaning and symbolism behind them was. The green circle and black dot also intrigued me about what their meaning was, and what they meant to Nsaindon26.

When interviewing Nsaindon26, the first question that I asked him was what the meaning of the Z’s were. He had a simple straight to the point answer, “I like to sleep.” Upon further questioning, I said, does it really just mean sleep? “I’m catching Z’s,” he replied. I then asked him about the purple background, and to my surprise he said,”I’m a big Taco Bell guy.” As it turns out, the purple represented Taco Bell. I asked him what was so special about Taco Bell and he said it was his,”Go to place.” and that he’s been going there for years. After that I asked him about the green circle and he told me that the green circle was actually a vinyl, and that the black dot was in the middle of it. When I asked him what made him choose the vinyl he said, “I like to go to concerts” as a follow up question I asked him what his favorite concert he’s been to was and he said, “Pantera.”

My process and Nsaindon26’s process to create our avatars was quite different. For example, both of our avatars used the color purple, however they both meant much different things. His purple represents food and Taco Bell. While mine was showing my favorite color. It shows how even though they are the same color they can mean many different things depending on who it’s for.
