MSpencer is a senior at Oak Hill High School.
Her avatar is a mountain. The mountain is surrounded by a tan background and tall, green trees in the foreground. In the avatar MSpencer had drawn, the thing that struck me the most by far is the mountain. The mountain is the focal point of her avatar due to her other small, but directive trees and background. The background is in correlation with her pup, which is in fact not her favorite animal. When I had spoken to MSpencer she had stated “Dogs are not my favorite animal. Dinosaurs are cooler and I have always liked them”
The main focus of MSpencer’s avatar was to attract others in what she loves most. The way the mountain correlates with the trees, and the trees make the background blend in, it all goes together. The mountain and the trees all correlate to things MSpencer loves. MSpencer added the trees because “I love nature and want to be a wildlife conservationist” when she grows old.

My concept is very similar in ways as MSpencer’s. Our concepts both revolve around things we both love and enjoy. Things that make our time worthwhile are things we represent in our avatars. Although our avatars are very different in our own ways, the meaning behind them unveils a deeper meaning than what is shown. With my avatar being a yellow box with a green star in the top left corner then being filled around by a brown square covering the top left corner of the avatar.
MSpencer’s avatar consists of a grey mountain as the middle, but the focal point of a deeper meaning. The little things being the trees in the foreground and the subtle but almost main focus being the tan background. The trees also represent nature and how she wants to pursue nature and wildlife as a career as she grows up. One of the most fond memories MSpencer has is “Hiking Tumbledown, and at the top my brother and father fished with me!” The background is a representation of her dog, and her relationship with her dog. MSpencer stated “I met my dog when he was 2 weeks old. He is a little stinker but I still love him.” With her avatar, it shows how you can learn so much about someone, in such a little bit.
