My partner rbussiere27 avatar is a semi-truck. The truck is outlined with the color grey, but the details are in the color lime. The truck faces horizontally to its left on a slight incline. The part that stood out the most for me was the color lime. Lime attracts the human eye; especially when it’s showing the main details of the truck. R. Bussiere picked a semi-truck because it symbolizes trucking and picked the lime to be the main color, because it looked cool. R. Bussiere made his truck online on Canva.
Trucking has evolved from 19th-century motorized wagons into modern semi-trucks, today carrying roughly 70% of all U.S goods. 19th-century delivery vehicles and World War I supply demands proved the importance of road transport, which expanded drastically during the 1956 of the Interstate Highway System, but the 1980 Motor Carrier Act then restricted the industry, causing intense competition and new carriers. Today, trucking relies on modern technology for navigation and satellites for transporting goods.
Trucking is the inner strength of the global supply chain, it serves as a critical link that links producers, manufacturers, and consumers all together. It is responsible for transporting the majority of all supplies, delivering essential goods like food, medicine, and materials across the world to shelves and homes. This is because truckers have a flexible, door-to-door delivery that planes, trains, and ships cannot match, the world’s economy relies on the trucking industry to keep businesses operating and essential goods in stock. My avatar is a “ripped” or you can say “swole” man who’s working out with multiple pieces of equipment, but the best is that he has chicken legs. I made this avatar to represent fitness & health, but also included the funny stereotypes that males have in the gym. I enjoyed making my avatar mainly, because it was goofy; plus, with the comments of me tattooing the avatar on my chest like the demigod Maui from the movie Moana.
I enjoyed looking into R. Bussiere’s avatar, because it forced me to look into the importance and history of trucking in the U.S and the world. I also enjoyed creating my avatar, due to how fun it was and the silly comments I got while creating it.
