Climb … Keep Climbing & Slide

I never really fully understood stress as much before this year. Senior year is definitely not what I thought it was going to be. Sure you come into high school making it the best experience, meeting new friends, new beginnings as well as a fresh start to everything. Coming into high school you think that you’re going to pass everything on time and have good grades, and you do at first, but the further you climb up the slide the harder it is to climb to the top to slide down.

My high school experiences I can say have definitely changed my life for the better. Not only realizing the small things, but what you want to do for the rest of your life makes you really think about your future and what you want to follow you. Learning right from wrong as well as what you can and can’t do in the real world. As for the underclassmen that are coming this fall, and for you underclassmen that are still here… work your way up the slide climb slowly. You will be told numerous times (maybe already) do your work on time. I don’t know how many times you will hear this in your high school career probably more than a million times.

I’m not just saying this for you to worry, but only for you to understand the stress and responsibility you really need during your last year. Senior year is the hardest out of them all, at least I thought so. During the last couple of months as well as the last four years I’ve learned a new definition of procrastination, and no matter how much you hate doing your work, the better you’ll feel when it’s done. The more you climb the slide the more higher you can see in front of you. Meanwhile no one wants to lose grip while climbing higher into the air, so keep your head up, look forward and slide down on time.

I agree with you 100%. Senior year is so stressful. I wish I would have Listened to the classes before us when they told us to do out homework and stuff on time. You said this very well (: Its so true.

I’m definitely the other one that wishes I would of took the seniors before us words and listened to them. I probably would of kept up with the work load more than I did. Senior year has probably been one of the most stressful years because of it. Your writing was well said 🙂

I feel like everyone in our class regrets how much they procrastinated at least a little, I sure know that I do. Questioning whether I would graduate or not because I got so stressed with my work load was not my best choice. If I started senior year over I would definitely try to keep up with my work a little better, so that instead of senior year being a mountain climb, it could have been a slide.

I loved this, its something that so many people can relate too. Senior year has been stressful. Procrastination has definitely gotten to the best of us. I regret a lot of choices I made about doing my school work, and waiting for the last minute to do everything. I have definitely learned my lesson, and I hope the underclassmen that are going to be seniors next year don’t make the same decisions.

I agree a lot. This year is so stressful and not what I thought it was going to be at all. You always having to do a bunch of work in order to graduate which we all want to do and the work happens to be harder because of course we are older. but senior year is only the start to the struggle

I wish underclassmen could see this and believe it, because when I heard things like this i didn’t believe them at all and now i really regret screwing off in highschool and now im stuck back at school after its already done. I am truly sick of being here and I really hope iIdon’t have to be here another year.

I like this piece because I have had many tough trials in my life and it is important to me that I keep looking forward and take on those trials instead of being afraid.

This is very true. I have never been more stressed in my entire life. There have been moments where I have wanted to give up, but I know that if I do I will never finish anything. Hopefully I can get everything done along with the rest of you.

I can agree with this completely, if I had the chance to start over I would do every homework assignment I got the second it was assigned. Procrastination will be the death of me. I should have listened to those above me when they said to do my homework.
