It's Good to be a Kid Again

Minecraft is a game that takes the player back to their childhood. The world is made of blocks. These blocks can be broken, placed, and crafted into other kinds of blocks or tools. Minecraft is a game that no matter how old you get, you can play it because it is so simple. The simplicity behind Minecraft is the reason why it is so great. Minecraft relies on one philosophy, you can do whatever you want. There is a story behind Minecraft but not a solid one like in most video games. The only real objective is to build, break, and have fun.

Minecraft has been around since its alpha version back in 2009. It was officially released as a game in 2011 and has ever since been growing in the eyes of its players. Video games usually lose their amount of fun after a few years, but Minecraft has been out for 7 now and is still one of the most downloaded games on the market.

Because Minecraft is so simple, it becomes better and better as new game consoles come out. This game’s graphics are practically just blocks. There is nothing really hard for the console or computer to compute. So, when playing on a PS4, Minecraft runs seamlessly with absolutely no frame skip or game lag. Thanks to high amounts of memory and a smooth processor, a game that could be run on a computer back in 2009, can run even better on a console today.

One of the best things to do on Minecraft is to play with friends. Logging on to a world with a bunch of friends can help add to the building mayhem. When your friends try really hard to build a house, one of the best things to do is blow it up. Minecraft allows the player to do anything, and anything is what makes it fun. There is no real story, there are no objectives, all there really is, is the ability to become a kid again. Most kids love playing with blocks, and by making the blocks into a game, many of the fun times as a kid can be remembered.

The simplicity of Minecraft is what makes it so great. Any game that can make the player feel like a kid again, is hands down a great game. The graphics may just be blocks, but that is the point of the game; blocks. Sometimes being told what to do in a game can be frustrating. It can cause the player to lose interest and go find something else to do. Not being told what to do in Minecraft however, makes it one of the greatest games around.
