A Very Merry Christmas

Hi, I’m Shelby Wood and my bestfriend is my mom. Good friends are few and far between, but being born to your best friend is a blessing in itself. She helps me through everything, whether it’s homework or dealing with mean girls, she knows what to do and gives me guidance when I most need it.
A time where she helped me…well that’s everyday. Just yesterday she helped me cook a grilled cheese and the day before she helped get my car up my icy driveway. I try to help her in any way I can, knowing well that she does everything and anything for me. The only time that stood out to me for a time when I helped her was giving her a happy Christmas, hopefully getting her all she could’ve ever imagined.
I visited her at her office earlier last year, while looking around I saw she didn’t have many personal things, things that meant a lot to her. I then remembered that I had just gotten my senior pictures done. While getting them done, my mom wanted my brother and I to pose for a picture, something that we had both done for his senior pictures. As soon as my mom saw the pictures of my brother and I, her eyes teared up and she fell in love with them. I knew I had to get her something to do with this picture, as well as something personal she could put in her office to showcase her two children she is so very proud of. I came to the conclusion that a canvas with the picture on it would be perfect so I downloaded the picture and sent it over to CVS to be printed out on a canvas. She fell in love, and once again she cried. I hit the nail right on the head and I got her something that she loves and adores to this day.
Another gift that I got her was a couples massage, not for her and my dad, but her and I. This was a perfect example of helping eachother, she’s getting a massage with her daughter that she enjoys spending time with oh so much and I’m getting a massage with her, someone I look up to and love tremendously.
All in all, my mom and I help one another, even if my mom helps me each and everyday and I can only do it a few times a year. If it weren’t for my mom I don’t know where I would be. She is my mom, shoulder to cry on, and most importantly my bestfriend and I am forever gratetful for that.
