Patience Is Key

Patience is something that I wish I had with a lot of things. Because I have no patience when it comes to people, but I realized while at work, keep in mind I work at a call in Chinese restaurant named Yeungs and I have to deal with that and become more patient with people. So because of that I am very patient with customers when they come into my work, and order and they take quite a while to order sometimes, and I am very patient with them and try to help them so it will get over quicker. some people will come in with their kids and their kids are just being very loud and obnoxious, it gets very annoying but I stay patient and let the parents deal with their kids because I understand how it is to take care of little kids and have them not listen, I mean we all should we were there at one point.

At Yeungs sometimes when My Coworker and I are working we are very patient when it comes to customers because it’s part of our job we have to stay calm and be patient with people because at the end of the day we are there to serve them. My coworker and I both work at a Yeung’s restaurant and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are the busiest nights of the year, and it starts to get busier and busier between 4-7 where I work, and on those nights I have to be extremely patient. On Christmas eve there were a few customers who were getting upset with my coworker and me because we give them an estimated time when they call in and it happened to be around 2 hours, they came in about an hour and fifteen minutes after they called and was trying to yell at my coworker and me. We had to calmly and patiently explain to him that his food was not done yet because he came way earlier than he was supposed to. it was already a stressful enough night, it was hard to be patient with all the customers because of how busy it was, I felt like I was being swarmed by 100 bees, imagine how stressful that is.

My coworker and I, get very annoyed and impatient with customers fast because sometimes they will call back after picking up their order and start to complain about missing one duck sauce or something small. We have people come in and yell at us, and we just have to sit there and be patient with them and not lose our cool and just explain to them what happened, and apologize, and say it won’t happen again. I have to be patient with them even when they are sitting there yelling at us. My coworker and I after getting yelled at we sit there and think about what we could have done better and what we could have done better to deescalate the situation This shows patience because we are just sitting there trying not to talk back to them or anything.
