What’s up, parents, faculty, and students of Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee? Today’s hot press issue is the internet and whether it’s good for people to use or if it’s the cesspit of a place many of us think it is. The internet is a very divisive place. Some people love it; they view it as a free place where they can connect with others all around the world. Others view it as the closest thing to hell the world will ever see. Still, it doesn’t matter what others think because I will now give the only correct opinion that you will have to accept. After all, you read it in the only trustworthy media out there, the school newspaper, of according to Google, like the 4th worst school in the U.S.A., Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Went to Tennessee once to hot, they gotta fix that or something. That’s unimportant, though. What is important is that my opinion is the only one you can trust, and don’t believe anything others tell you. Now that you know my qualifications and how trustworthy I am, are you ready for the only correct opinion on the internet? I know you’re waiting on bated breath, Mr. Young. The internet is………. Honestly kind of beautiful, even with so many things wrong with it, The good it can bring is just incredible with how it can connect people and the vast array of knowledge it has the good it brings to us far outweighs the risks
The internet is not all sunshine and rainbows though it can put young children with negligent parents in danger of predators or how it can bring together people with harmful ideas together easier, like KKK meetings, probably just Zoom calls now, dude, imagine zoom bombing a KKK meeting, oh my god, that’s so funny. It can also give people with terrible opinions a very loud voice like Andrew Tate even if you like his ideas which your insane if you do hes a literal human trafficker and people still follow him. Impressionable people are also in danger of being groomed into joining terrorist organizations or cults, which I got in like 2014, having that happen, but no way there are still people dumb enough to accidentally join ISIS in the big 26 at that point, maybe natural selection should take its course with some people.
Even with all the terrible things I just mentioned, the internet is a beautiful place and the good it brings outweighs the risks. I would equate it to Limbo in Dantes inferno its described as a beautiful place that basks in the light of reason but not god. The good truly does outweigh the bad with the internet; even if it brings people with terrible ideals together, it can also unite people under one good cause like the stop killing games petition that was even brought in front of the EU Parliament that started a debate on game preservation and consumer rights it caused real change in the world with most big game corporations not just being able to shut down games because they don’t want to manage them anymore. It also allows us to learn so much information just this morning, while in the shower, I watched a full breakdown of the David case. It was super well-made and brought me up to speed on a topic that I didn’t know anything but surface level knowledge of. The information that anybody can access is just truly amazing.Which means that even without proper schooling people can still get information with just a device that can connect to the internet hell the Nintendo 3ds can have google on it provides information for those unfortunate enough to not be able to have much access to information. Even if you don’t like the internet, it is needed in the world, and I hope just a little that this convinces you that even if it’s a hellish place, hell can sometimes be beautiful. This was the supreme leader of the Booker T. Washington High School news team signing off.
