Simpson is an interesting fellow with very strong values. He values hard work and dedication. He pursues this through his love of basketball, and the hard work and dedication he puts into his craft. He stands at 5’9” and is a whopping 145 pounds. He is an avid basketball player, and he still shoots the ball with effortless finesse. He is a very good rizzler, and carries a certain suave with the ladies. Overall he is a very good boy, and I think he will be very successful in life.

Simpson’s overall avatar is picturesque, it resembles that of Van Gogh paintings in his prime. It features a basketball court in the foreground. A basketball in the middle with flames is flying towards the hoop. Being the center piece it caught my eye and made me think what it could mean. I think it symbolizes his burning passion for the game of basketball. There are hills with 4 trees in the middle ground. Simpson chose the trees “because trees grow, same as developing a skill”. The background is a sunset that symbolizes dedication and “staying out late to perfect your craft”. The sunset appears through a cloudy sky, it is purple and lightly orange in spots. The clouds are a bunch of different shapes and they are illuminated by the sunset and the dedication. This means that ‘you can make your dreams shine if you have the dedication to do so”.
There are many similarities and differences between the way Simpson and I made our avatars. First the style of our avatars are made on Canva, this was the best way to add detail and make them transferable and sharp. Second, they are both cartoon drawing styles and not realistic. My avatar is balanced from left to right where as camerons is all centered. Our avatars both have grassy hills and our main theme close to the middle, his being basketball and mine being a lineman.
While our avatars in my opinion look very cool and are meaningful, I think if they were a flag their detail and meanings would be lost. Both go against design principals we learned like keep it simple, use 2 to 3 colors, and be distinctive. If they were flying on a flag pole you would probably look at mine and say what is that green white and blue blob. And even if you could see it I doubt anyone would really remember it very well. If it were to have a second version I would have just had the pole in a yellow circle with a blue background.
