Call or text? Both of these methods of communication brought with the invention of the cell phone are very helpful for being able to communicate with someone instantly no matter how far away they are. But both methods have their pros and their cons so the usage of both is required to be able to communicate the most effectively. The first method that will be discussed is phone calls.
The ability to call another person gives you the ability to instantly talk to someone as if they’re right there with you but it’s not without its downfalls. One of the main downfalls of calling is that if the other person can’t pick up the phone then you aren’t able to talk to that person until they can call you back. But that’s where one of the biggest strengths of texting is with its ability to send the message that you wanted to relay by texting and the person can see it instantly when they open their phones. Another upside to phone calls is their ability to communicate a large amount of information easily because it’s the same as being in a face-to-face conversation and with the prominent use of services like Facetime you can even see the person. But the biggest upside is how fast you are able to give information to someone by being able to just call them. Another modern way to communicate with other people is by using texting.
The main advantage of texting is that it’s very convenient because the person can view your message whenever they are available to look at the message. Another advantage is its ability to pass along information fast when it would be inconvenient to call someone, but, texting is a horrible way to pass on large pieces of information. The reason for this is because you will need to type out a massive block of text which can lead to errors in the text which can lead to miscommunication.
In conclusion, the usage of both texting and calling is amazing, and using both will make it so communication with people is efficient. But making sure you use the correct type of communication for the situation at hand is key to success. Using a phone call to be able to instantly directly communicate with people or to give someone a large amount of information. While using texting is more convenient because someone can open the message at any time and is very good at passing short quick bits of information to people.
