Problems create opportunities. I think people in this generation could use this statement as a form of motivation to get back up and be the best person you can be. It all depends on how you look at the problem.
I think Duke Ellington meant that problems aren’t just things that are here to stop you , they are opportunities to learn and grow from your previous mistakes, “A problem is a chance for you to do your best.” I do agree with him on this statement, Ellington is saying that obstacles in your life is a good chance for you to strive and be your best self for future problems. I believe problems can create good opportunities to learn from your mistakes and grow to be better. I think lots of people could think of school as an example. Sometimes school can be stressful with all the deadlines and classes.
I think that my experiences have shaped my opinion on that problems create good opportunities to grow to be better. My first couple of years of high school I was a huge procrastinator. With me not doing my school work on time and within the deadline, it caused me to almost fail some of my classes. For example, my English class was easily the one I struggled the most in. We would have to write reflections on what books we were assigned and during the year, we got a lot of them, which caused me to fall into a deep pit of a bunch of work I needed to do, which was a big problem. One of the big assignments I feel behind on was the Memoir reading responses. we had to read a book on our own time, and then we would get assigned an essay on what chapters we read just to make sure we were actually reading it. with all of these reading responses flooding in i just started to fall behind on other work for other classes as well because I was trying to get these English assignments done. Im not going to blame it all on the teacher because it was mostly my fault. Instead of doing my work, I would hang out with friends or play video games for hour on end. However, this created the opportunity for me to pass my future classes and I used this as a learning experience for my next couple of years of high school, and now I try my hardest to get my work in on time.
In the end, if you are struggling with anything in your life, you should be seeing the problems as big oppritunities to learn and grow from your previous mistakes and also use that information for future problems that may occur.
