Laughter is something that happens often in most peoples lives. For some people, it only happens some of the time. For me, it happens all the time, but only for moments when I need it. I’d say I’m a pretty happy person. But the times I’m upset, or disappointed in myself, or simply just having a bad day, all I really need is a couple seconds of laughter. That moment of negative in my life doesn’t come close to competing with laughter. It’ll never stick with me through the rest of my life like laughter will.
One moment where laughter really changed my life, is the moment I realized it heals something inside me. My friends and I were all at another friends house for a sleepover. We had snuck out at about 12 in the morning, to go on a drive to get a little sweet treat. When we got back and finally settled down for bed, I looked at the ceiling and it hit me. All the laughs and giggles from the drive there, the drive back, and even as our eyes began to shut, that’s what life’s all about. Laughter will always overpower those bad days, no matter how rough it gets. I’ve understood to deal with the negative things because I know they’ll pass, and that laughter from before will always come back. Not only does laughter cancel out the bad things in life, but it also brings people together like nothing else in this world can. These sleepovers of endless laughter, bring each and everyone of us closer. I can say that this is the biggest friend group I’ve ever had that’ll always have a special place in my heart. These memories we’ve all made together, will be something I’ll never forget.
After these hangouts, the bad days start to lessen. Because I’ve understood the laughter will never end, and it’s always right around the corner. Even on the worst days of your life, that laughter will never leave, those thoughts of laughter never leaves, and the positiveness that outshines the negative will always be there.
