To Dye Or Not To Dye

There are so many different hairstyles and hair colors out there now to fit any type of personality one may have. Whether its a short curled bob look, or a long straight ironed look. You can add highlights, or low-lights in. The options seem endless.

There’s short hair, theres medium length hair, and then there is long. For each of these you can add a style. You could get layers, long or not, you could get all across bangs, or maybe just a side sweep. You also have styling options when it comes to straight, waved or curly. You can use tools such as hand wands, or flat irons for this, or just use product to attain your desired look. But adding color is a whole different level of option.

A good summer feeling hair look could be highlights. Adding blondes and caramels all throughout your hair is well known once summer comes around. Its just the right amount of commitment when it comes to a dye job. You could also do what is known as “dipping your tips”, and just adding color to the ends of your hair. This seems easier because once you want the color out you can choose to just cut them off for a trim anyway. In this there are also different types of highlighting, such as “babylights”, which are extremely fine strands of the hair being highlighted throughout your head.

For winter, a common trend is low-lights, which is the same as highlights only using the opposite colors, like darker browns or blacks. You can also use these colors for just the underneath of your hair.

Ombre became a bigger style choice in the past couple of years. This is when you start at the tops of your roots and as you move down the color changes. You can do this starting with light to dark, dark to light, or using vibrant colors in any order of your choosing. Theres different types of ombre, such as Balayage or Guy Tang Ombre.

Another big trend especially in celebrities in the past couple of years, is pastel hair dyes. Baby pinks, blue and purples, and mixing the three. You could choose to do your entire head, or some people just do a few strands, or even highlights.

Theres so many different colors and mixes you can do with colors or hair styles. You can find many hair style or dye ideas on the site Pintrest. Or read tips and ideas on more online sites.

What is the best product of hair dye to use for your hair? Would you recommend that people go to a hair salon, or do you think people could do it themselves?

In today’s society, dying hair is becoming more and more popular, which makes this a very legitimate post, and is relatable to most of our classmates. There are many pros when dying hair, including making yourself more confident, but there are cons, too. I know that dying hair a lot in a short period of time is very unhealthy and can damage your hair due to all the chemicals. Are there any natural substitutes when choosing a hair dye? Something that would be effective, but not as damaging?

I love the idea that dying one’s hair is way to express creativity! Is there a way to get the hair dye back out of the hair, or must it just be dyed back to as close as possible?

Question: Why is it that my hair becomes lighter in color in the summertime, but turns dark and thicker in the winter. Like in the winter my hair is considered to be dirty blonde but in the summer it would be considered to be blonde as heck. What’s up with this?

Awesome post! How come many dyes look so unnatural? I feel as though even when people try to dye and “natural color” it comes out looking really fake, what are some tips someone could get to avoid that?
