Mountains and Paw Prints

What catches my eye first is there’s a blank, colorless mountain taking up most of the space on acuster27’s avatar. The mountain has two sharp points, one high and one lower than the other. This is one of only two elements to acuster’s avatar. The other is a small, round circle, also without color, in the top left corner that is supposed to be the sun. These two elements of their avatar provide a simple look at the outdoors.

When acuster was creating their avatar, they said they, “based it off my favorite hobby”. According to them, they have been skiing for a long time, and still love it today. The mountain in their avatar represents the average mountain a person will ski on, and when I asked them about the sun they said, “the sun represents the ideal day and weather for skiing”. When I asked why they chose skiing as their focus, they told me, “I’ve been skiing since I was four years old.”

Their process for creating their avatar differs from mine, as I chose to base mine off a potential career path. I think I’d like to be a veterinarian, so I based my avatar on that by having a blue background with a paw print over it. The paw print is supposed to represent the smaller animals I’d like to help and work with if I become a veterinarian. The blue coloring is similar to the sterile latex gloves used by veterinarians when handling animals or performing operations.

Though we used different ways and techniques to create our avatars, we still chose to focus on things we enjoy. We both chose to represent it in simple ways rather than having a complicated avatar and I think it works better that way.
