I would love it if we could stop comparing ourselves to other people. I mean, I understand we have revolving thoughts about ourselves non-stop. I feel like we would have less anxiety and depression rates if we ended comparing and contrasting our person to one another. The benefits would be more happiness and healthier people. I feel like no matter how hard we try, we wouldn’t be able to give it up. We don’t just compare ourselves to our bodies; it is also money, jobs, family life, and countless other little things. The drawbacks would be that we wouldn’t have any “role models” because with them we compare and contrast to be like our role models. I or anyone could give it up and live in the same setting, but it would just be hard because where we live and where we go to school, there is judgment everywhere. I have previously accepted that everyone is their own person, but we always try to improve ourselves and be better versions. It might be difficult, but if we put our minds to it, we can all be happier if we stop comparing ourselves to one another.

This is such a relatable point to make. I personally feel like the constant comparison is so exhausting. I truly don't understand why everyone feels the need to judge others. There are so many factors that influence people's lives, like familial situations, health, and more. It just seems so unfair to compare superficial details when it is reality that dictates them.

What factors do you think most contribute to all this judgement and comparison? Is it just social media, or is there more to it?
