When it comes to today's society a lot of things are looked at as normal, but overall I would say that a lot of them are unhealthy and not needed to succeed in life. If I could give up one thing it would be DOOM SCROLLING. Doom scrolling is a slang term to represent infinitely scrolling on apps like Tik Tok or on Instagram reels. When doing so you can lose track of time and just keep scrolling to see what the next video at hand is. You do it to waste time when you have nothing to do yet most of the time there are better alternatives. One benefit would be feeling better and more apt to go and do stuff that doesn't involve my phone. Another would be not having stuff like eye strain and headaches because there wouldn't be as much time on the screen. Some drawbacks would be when I'm sitting there on board and not knowing what to do having that urge to take out my phone and scroll for hours, but I would have to find a way to get around that. I think that if I was in this setting I could give it up because at one point I gave up Tik Tok for a while, but I compensated by using other apps like Instagram, but overall I believe I could give it up. Overall I think I would still be able to fit into society because it's not something that defines you, it's more something just to consume time as almost everyone does when nothing is going on.

I really like your last sentence that says social media and the doom scrolling is not something that defines people, it is definitely a different way of thinking. I also wrote about social media, but not specifically doom scrolling which is something almost everyone, including myself, does. Although you say you would be able to live without the doom scrolling, I think many people would not be able to live without the doom scrolling, especially the younger generations. I feel like some of the stuff mentioned is vague though, such as "When it comes to today's society a lot of things are looked at as normal, but overall I would say that a lot of them are unhealthy and not needed to succeed in life." In this, it is not specified what things are normal. Overall, your message and reasoning are all extremely true and relevant!
