Cyber Monday

Black Friday is the biggest known shopping day of the year. It’s the kick-off to the Christmas holiday season, when Thanksgiving is over and it’s finally almost December, the month people look forward to all year. And every store is open outrageous hours to host their great sales. But it’s not the shopping day I look forward too. I anticipate the following “holiday”, Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday has grown pretty popular itself, with the ease that online shopping offers and the obvious high use of the internet in general. It doesn’t offer the same experiences as Black Friday, like being up late, facing the crowds of people, standing in long lines and finding and fighting for that wanted item, but normally those things don’t sound appealing to people anyway. Cyber Monday allows you to stay in your home. You can easily browse all the available items and receive the same discount, sometimes an even better discount, as well as free shipping! Being a very frugal shopper, I take advantage of the best sales and usually end up making a lot of progress on my Christmas shopping list. And then it’s like another holiday all over again when all your items come in the mail a week later.

I find the experiences on Black Friday fun and love shopping so I probably will be taking part in both days but most of my excitement and shopping will occur on Cyber Monday: the lazier and safer alternative shopping holiday.
