DIY: Picture Letters

Step 1: Collect your materials! What you will need is a piece of cardboard, scissors, glue, a couple of paint brushes, glitter (optional), a marker (or pencil), and then some of your favorite pictures!

Step 2: Draw/Trace your letter! The piece of cardboard that I used was the top of a pizza box, I took a sharpie and just free handed the letter. I used ‘K’ because it is the first letter of my name and thought it would go good with my room, however you can use whichever letter you like! You could even make a whole word if you wanted to!

Step 3: Cut out your letter, and your pictures! Make sure you have enough pictures to cover the entire letter, this is what adds that collage type of look. Also you don’t want them to bee too big because you will end up cutting some parts off that you want on there, this happened to me because my pictures were a little too big. It was my first time so you will get better if you make more than one letter!

Step 4: Place and glue your pictures onto the letter! You can arrange the pictures anyway that you would like! Just use your imagination and make it yours. You could also make your pictures colored, I liked them black and white because again it goes good with my room!

Step 5: Cut the pictures around the letter! I found it easier to flip the letter over before you start cutting because you can see where the cardboard is so you can just follow that outline with your scissors.

Step 6: Add some glitter! This step is completely optional, if you like the letter better without glitter then you don’t have to add it but I am really girly and like glitter so I added some! Make sure you put something under your letter before you start to add the glitter, just to make clean up easier. Also make sure that you do the glitter in small to medium sections of the letter, to insure that the glue doesn’t dry before you put the glitter on.

Step 7: Add it to your room decor! I put mine on top of my dresser. However you can hang it up on your wall, or putting it on the front of your door, or above your bed would look cute also. Just put it wherever you think it looks best!
