It was a rainy night in the middle of November when Tanner, Garret, Quintin and I decided to go a playoff football game. I was not going to be the one that was driving to the game, I was just going to be sitting in the back seat. The game was between Wells and Oak Hill and was being played at Wells which was a little over an hour away from out hometown. The ride there was long and very bad because of the bad weather, but we made the best of it. By time we got there it was almost gametime and we expected a decent football game, even though it was raining. We stood under a canopy for majority of the game so that we could avoid the rain.

Eventually the game was over, and unfortunately for us our team did not win and they were out of the playoffs. We left the game and headed back towards Sabattus, still pouring outside like it has been the entire day. On the way back I had the idea that we should get some food, I asked everyone else if they were hungry as well and I remember all three of them saying they were, which is when Tanner decided we would stop at Five Guys. Tanner was the driver so he had more say over Quintin, Garret and I of course, but us three agreed with Tanner that eating here would be fast enough where it wouldn’t be too late when we got home. After the three of us ate we got in the car and went back towards Sabattus. The ride home felt like forever because of the weather cause the road conditions to not be the greatest, the rain seemed to be the worst part of this night so far.

As we continued on and it got later and later into the night we finally got back to Sabattus where we all had to go to the high school and get our cars from the parking lot since we carpooled with just one car. The four of us were driving back to the high school when all of a sudden Tanner noticed there were blue flashing lights behind us. This is when we realized we were getting pulled over by a Sabattus police officer, Tanner also didn’t have his license for nine months which means he is not allowed to drive anybody in his vehicle. This scared all three of us. Tanner, Quintin, Garret and I all realized having him drive us to the game was a bad idea, that could have led to consequences we didn’t want to face. The cop had to drive the three passengers, including me back to our cars, while the driver drove home by himself. This night was one that sure taught me a lot and made me not want to drive with people before I was legally allowed. Tanner had agreed with me that driving people was an instant regret because of the consequences. None of us wanted to drive people because of the consequences of doing so.

I really enjoyed reading the story where I could, also find humor from reading it. I can relate to something like this happening from whenever a friend who’s given me a ride somewhere that have their license, but hadn’t finished up their nine months. It’s a very stressful time for both the driver, passenger, and passengers. I do remember that very night at the game though, although sadly the game was a loss because I know I was playing in it and the rain and mud that night were ridiculous. There is a clear lesson to be taken away from this story and I’m glad you learned from your mistakes, and realized that there is consequences for your actions even if it is something minor. Personally I think you could’ve improved on your post though by speaking about how everyone in the vehicle felt when they saw the lights appeared, what were the thoughts going through your heads.

J— I found it really amazing that you developed the plot and made it extremely easy to keep up with what was going on in the story from arriving at the football game to when T— got pulled over. Also great job with moving the story line while keeping describing things in such as the weather that day.

It seems like forever ago that this happened. The night did start off great, but only got progressively worse over time. It, of course, was not until the cop pulled Tanner over that I realized that this could become very bad. However, it all turned out okay. Even if I can still remember looking at you every single time the cop asked us a question when we were sitting in the back of his car on the way to our vehicles. It was the first time I have ever rode in a cop car and hopefully, it will be the last, but in the end, it will be a night I will not forget.
