Family Moments

Life has moments in which we all either want to remember them forever or forget them. But there are also moments we can reflect on in which we have taken them for granted. Everyone has had a moment or moments they took for granted. One that came to my mind was during the racing season. Always wanting to be up front and the fastest one in the pack. Recently I have achieved that goal. I look back and reflect on my past and realize that moments in my past I should have captured. Used them to their full extent. Being upfront with a low budget was not easy, but things that I could have learned in the past if I would have just listened and watched could have had me in the front sooner.

My first full season of racing, I had every odd against me. No clue how to set up my car and was under powered. For some reason I ran upfront every race. Everyone was saying it was because I was consistent. Of course being young I blew that comment off, just thought I had the best darn car. Turns out I was wrong. All the day I spent in my bed sleeping or playing video games, my Dad was spending it working on my car. Using his limited knowledge on the car to make it faster. And I knew he was out there. These moments I took for granted. I could have been out there with him learning. I have my dad to thank for just how great my car went. My mom also helped but I was usually there for that. Racing is what my family bonds over. We all learned something from it and just enjoy being a part of it.

Learning how to set up the car, and seeing what I could do better just by reading tire wear. Knowing how to grease the bearings and more. I also missed out on that bonding time. To spend time with my dad before our lives both got busy. I know now to capture those moments. Just wish I could have then. The memories we could have made, and more. We all take many moments for granted, but the ones you can spend with your family or just the ones you love, you can never get those back. Capitalize on any you see, cause those memories you make during those times can last a lifetime.
