Getting to know JLane22

JLane22 designed her avatar with three different symbols. The symbols represent things she likes to do. The symbols are mountains, the color blue, and a checkered print. The mountains are colored blue and the checkered print is black. The mountains represent hiking, the color blue represents the beach, and the checkered print represents field hockey. JLane’s avatar represents that she is a very active person. 

The parts of JLane’s avatar that grabbed my attention are the mountains and the checkered print. The mountains grabbed my attention because I had no idea that she liked to hike. The mountains were drawn very nicely and that made them stand out even more. The checkered print also grabbed my attention because I knew right away that it had to do with field hockey. The checkered pattern was straight and it was very creative to put it on top of the mountains. 

JLane’s process for creating her avatar was to come up with things that consumed her life and the things she loves. The things JLane chose for her avatar has been in her life for a long time. When I asked JLane when she started playing field hockey, she stated, “I have been playing field hockey since seventh grade”. JLane has hiked and gone to the beach since she was young. When JLane and I were talking, she said, “Mount Blue is my favorite mountain to hike”. The beach also is a big part of JLane’s life, she goes all the time during summer. JLane said her favorite thing to do at the beach is, “tanning”. All of the things JLane included in her avatar take up her life and make her happy. 

JLane and my processes were similar because we both took the things that meant the most to us and combined it all together to form our avatar. JLane and I both showed that sports were a big part of our lives, while she put field hockey, I put basketball. Although there were some similarities in our processes, they were also different. The difference in JLane’s avatar was she used places she likes to be and I used things I like. JLane mentioned the beach and hiking and I mentioned mac n cheese and my dog.
