My High School Career

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2022!  Just a few more days. Well we’ve all had quite the high school experience. Some of my experience was playing sports and making sure photo math could help me pass math classes. Freshman year we came into this new school still trying to figure out who we are and where we stand. We came in with new teachers, new coaches, and new expectations. Freshman year we had to learn about this new vocabulary program called membean. My god, I’m glad I’m done. Another thing we learned was that phys ed was not any middle school gym class. Some of it had its memories like watching Mr. Daniels eat it off a chair in the middle of class. Coming through sophomore year, I would say that one of the worst things for me that I’ve done all my life was presenting. I am not much of a public speaker. Learning about sophomore speech was not something I enjoyed hearing that I had to do. At the end of sophomore year COVID hit and all schools shut down so it did keep me from presenting a sophomore speech. Now covid is not a good thing but it definitely did help me pass 2 classes especially geometry(man thank you pass/fail grading). Now I thought it was a good thing to not have to present since I was like that all my life but I did miss many opportunities to get better at public speaking since I do have to take a public speaking class in college so I guess it was inevitable.

Junior year was a little more normal since we were able to come into school a few days a week. Most days I can say that I barely did anything as the workload was lighter due to covid and nothing was normal. Missing the opportunity in football and full seasons of sports was definitely tough to get through but coming into senior year, we were wearing masks but we were pretty much back to normal. Something I’m pretty sure we all weren’t ecstatic about is the work we were expecting since it was getting back to a normal year. We have to not worry about the trivial things and just have to control what we can control. We just had to “roll with the punches”(Idiom) . I think the work we got this year definitely caught me off guard since the last 2 years we barely had any work as most of the week I was at home playing games during zoom calls. My bad teachers. (Comparison) I was told that junior year would kill me and was very tough but with covid, I found it to be my easiest year. Senior year was the one that I had to actually do work in study hall. No more procrastinating as the year is almost over. I’m pretty sure that I’ve done more work in these last 2 weeks than the previous 3 years of high school(Hyperbole). Now I am the reason that I am doing so much work right now but let’s just say senioritis did it. So what i’m trying to say is don’t worry about the trivial things and control what you can control as bad things will always happen in life but the key is to battle it gracefully and with maturity. Now whatever life or future schooling is going to throw at you, you can do it.
