Commencement Speech

Violence is never the answer. When I was between the ages of 11-14 I was constantly bullied for my weight and my skin color. I would come home everyday crying and my mom would always tell me that violence was never the answer. At the time all I wanted was to slap the kid silly. This was a daily occurrence. There was never a day I came home without being bullied at school. It was awful. When I came to Oak Hill High School not only did I follow this rule. I learned many other things. These are the 10 things I learned.

  1. Do not run from the police or you’ll get a court date. Believe it or not, turning right 3 times just brings you right back to the same road. Always turn left.
  2. 2. Don’t speed. Another ticket will be added to the list. I now have a police radar. See you soon officer pete.
  3. 3. Never rely on others. Relying on others gets you nowhere if you can’t rely on yourself.
  4. 4. Never start a fight. Always finish it. Be calm. Dont stress. Let other people start and take action therefore you are not the instigator your the defendor
  5. 5. Don’t wait until the last day of highschool to do your schoolwork. Just do not do it; it makes for a long and stressful afternoon.
  6. All american does not mean anything. The label of all american was wrongfully given as the all american only plays well in the games that don’t matter. Titles are deceitful.
  7. Labeling others does nothing to benefit success. Even though it is said as a chilice. Actions speak louder than words
  8. Don’t go for the mid-crazy girls. You’re in for a rude awakening. Manipulation is a given. Get to know there friends
  9. Follow your own path. Screw what everyone else thinks. Have your own opinion. Be a leader
  10. Don’t plagiarize. This was by far the biggest lesson I learned in highschool. Never plagiarize, no matter how desperate you may be. You will always get caught.
  11. TRUST NO ONE
