Laughter is a very important thing to relationships with friends, family or even strangers. Laughter is one of the first things you look at when you are having a conversation with someone, if you are trying to be friendly you want to be able to make them smile or laugh. And if you are close enough with someone you know how to make them laugh. Laughter is the most important thing in a friendship and true test of how well you know your friend or family member. If you are not laughing it means you are not having a fun time with whoever you are hanging out with. If you are laughing with who you are with it means you enjoy being around them and you are comfortable enough to be yourself and makes jokes to each other. You can use laughter to be able to tell someone’s emotions. If a person is making jokes and you can see them laughing a lot then you can tell there in a happy mood. If a person is not laughing at your jokes nor trying to make jokes you can assume that they are not in the happiest mood. A previous time that I remember that laughter was important is a time with my mom.
I remember one time my mom went out to a place and I was at home, she came home and usually she is a happy mood and is cracking jokes. She came home and she was not making jokes or laughing at the jokes I was making, so I asked her what was wrong and she was saying that the person at the store was not being very kind and made a mean remark about her. Her actions gave off the vibe that she was upset. So I made the decision to try and cheer her up. So knowing it made her go from a happy mood to a sad mood. I remember asking her, if she wanted to go out and go do something together. And it took her a while but she finally said yes. A couple minutes into the drive there she was slowly getting happier and happier, and by the time we got to the restaurant. When she originally got in the car she was slouched down in the seat, and not smiling. Sitting there upset and seemed kinda annoyed but on the way there asking her about different people, how her week was going and many other topics I knew she liked, by the time we got to the restaurant. She was no longer in a sad mood she was back to making jokes and laughing a lot. By the time she arrived back home and walked through the front door, and after the first thing I said to her I knew something was off. Because usually when she gets home it is ” hey how was your day” or make a joke towards me or a inside joke. But today she walked through the door and past the kitchen and sat down at the table. Which is not usual from her. She would usually come give me a hug or have something to tell me or show me but today, there was nothing. This show’s that you laughter is one of the easiest ways to tell how someone is doing mentally. And this also shows that you can laugh or make other people laugh with people you enjoy being around and people you want to be around. Your not gonna try to make jokes to someone you dislike, your gonna crack jokes to people you like.
Laughter was a huge role in this because, me knowing that my mom usually try making jokes and laughing at my jokes. When I realized she wasn’t making jokes or laughing at mine, I knew that something was wrong or not normal. And I am sure that many people can think of one person who knows how to tell if there friend or family member is feeling based on how they are reacting to certain jokes or facial expressions. Laughter is very good for your overall health mainly mental health. It can relieve a lot of built up anger and or stress. If you are laughing it means you are having a good connection with the people and boosting the connection you have with the people. It only brings you closer and lowers stress and any anxiety in the group you are in. Without laughter a lot of friends or groups could have a lot of anxiety or be worried about not being close. But with laughter you are able to come closer and relieve that stress of feeling different or any overall worries going on with your life. That is why laughter is the MOST important thing in friendships.
