What Did You Just Say?

This weekend I had my senior class trip. We had went to New Hamshire for the Apex Entertainment building. After the arcade we were dropped off at the mall for a couple hours. While Apex and the mall were a good time, the highlight of our trip comes from the night staying in our hotel room.

While this story takes place in the hotel, I would still like to add some context from a previous time in our trip. On the bus Pj and I would watch instagram reels together, and as a result we laughed some of the hardest we’ve ever laughed. Many of the reels had us laughing in a way i can only describe as maniacal, these reels mostly contained someboy setting their house on fire by accident or standing too close to fireworks. The more we watched, the funnier the reels had got. We would be in the bus seats physically kicking our feet and slapping eachothers arms.

One of the ongoing bits of the night was the joke we had about a specific Harry Potter character. Serius Black was a completely innocent man, you would know this if you are familair with the series. Assuming you are familiar with Harry Potter, you would also know that in Serius’s mugshot he decides to scream and thrash around all over the place as if he was mentally ill. Why would he do this? Literally nobody knows… This would be an ongoing joke for Pj and I all night, as we would randomly start acting as crazy as possible claiming we were Serius Black.

When we arrived at the hotel I had bunked with Bryce, Peyton, and my best friend Pj. The sheninigans had started after our curfew due to us being locked in our room. It was 11:30 and I was ready for bed. Pj is usually asleep by 8PM so i knew he wouldn’t be too far behind me. The fellas had told me earlier to turn on a movie, so Transformers was on the T.V. at this time. Bryce asked if we could turn off the T.V. since I wanted to start trying to sleep. After the Transformers was off the room was pitch black, and Peyton was doing his mischievious activities. Peyton was taking anything and everything that wasn’t tied down and moving it somehow. A chair was on top of the toilet, every lamp in the room was missing the bulb, paintings were moved, and even the microwave was facing the opposite way. While these provided laughs, the climax for our fun was after.

Pj and I were sharing a bed which left Peyton and Bryce on the other. Everybody else were conversing as I had my eyes closed. I don’t rememeber what was said, but my reaction was yelling the sentence “what did you just say?!” Nobody had paid any attention to that, as nothing about it was funny. The thing about what I had just said, I believed I sounded like Optimus Prime from Transformers. I would ask over and over if I sound like Optimus while saying “what did you just say” constantly for the next 40 seconds or so. Finally Pj had laughe due to me being in the background of their conversation saying the same line in a deeper voice than what I normally sound like. From that point on I would ask that question in my best Optimus impression everytime somebody said something questionable. If nobody laughed the first time i said it, the second time would always work. At one point Pj and I were already laughing after i said the phrase and thats when something unnexpected happend. Bryce, who had been mostly quiet, had started laughing in a way that would get him casted into the role of the next joker. We still are unsure why he was laughing but what we do know is it was extremely funny. Pj and I started laughing even harder, kicking our feet in the air and struggling to breathe. Bryce just continued with his insane laugh, leaving Peyton to record his laugh and send it to the group chat. Nobody knew the context and was very confused on why Bryce was laughing harder than seen before. This laughter along with our ongoing bits from earlier in the night had left us with the most fun night we’ve ever had in a day.
