Sled Buddys

First week off of senior year, this is what you dream about, winter time and the snow is coming! So my friend Josh calls me and ask if I want to go riding, he just got the new Polaris switchback 800, and I have an xc 500 Indy Polaris, hes pretty excited to go riding with his new sled and with not having a lot of snow around Sabattus we start to look where there is snow, as we find Jackman that just got a big storm. Me and josh start to plan our trip up to Jackman Maine, we needed to get a cabin with 2 people bedroom. figuring everything out we only needed 500$ each to spend a week up in jack-man and go riding wit hour sleds. We and josh grab everything we need and we leave to go to Jackman.

As we arrived at our destination we realize the trail we want to go riding on is covered in snow and has a steak in the ground that marks 3 feet of snow!

Josh’s sled starts to overheat and is running out of gas fast, so we start to lift the back end so that is is level with the front, as soon as its level Josh puts the throttle to the bar and gets it burred again, and this time the sled shuts off. I start to bring my sled off trail where josh is so I can tie a rope to his sled and get it out of the hole he got it stuck in. 50 miles from camp and in the middle of know where near a farm. I pull Josh’s sled into an open area trying to see if anyone is coming so we can ask for help. an hour later someone shows up.

My buddy Ian shows up. Ian shuts his sled off and hoops off he starts to look at Josh sled and realizes that it needed gas and a set of spark plugs to go with it. Ian grabs from his bag spark plugs and unscrews the previous ones he had in there and tells him that he flooded the sled that’s why it wouldn’t start.  Ian also grabs from the back of his sled a small container with five gallons of gas and gives three gallons to Josh so that he can make it to the gas station 15 miles ahead of the trail.

After a hard day of getting Josh sled unstuck  over and over again, it was nice of my buddy Ian to show up and help us out. Later that day me and Josh see Ian stuck in a ditch off trail. Josh and I ride over to him and ask him for help, he screams YES! I need someone to grab the front end and lift it up above the snow so that the skies are above the snow. as we lift Ian Jumps of and rides the sled on one side and gets it back onto trail. As we all got back to my camp Josh and I ask Ian if he wanted to stay and go on a night ride with us. He accepted the invite as long as no one got there sleds stuck again.
