The term “A problem is a chance for you to do your best” means that a problem or issue is the best time for you to try your hardest. Its a calling to others to take the opportunity to prove themselves when it is presented. Problems let people make their best effort in situations they may never encounter themselves.
For example, of this is like if your teacher made a glaring mistake with their technology in class, if you’re in the position where you think you can help them, then you absolutely should, as there are little to no consequences to failing, but there is the consequence of losing that opportunity. For example, you could miss things like a job opportunity, maybe you missed out at your chance for University because you were too afraid to try your best on an essay, or maybe even never even found the sport you like because you were too afraid to try. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Its similar to taking a difficult test and quitting at the very start becuase your afraid of getting a few wrong. That’s why if worst comes to the worst, a problem whether you solve it or fail spectacularly is a chance to grow, and gain something new like a skill or opportunity.
For example, I remember one time during my freshman year of high school, due to the peer pressure I join the football team despite having never played it before. The problem I had was with my general knowledge about football, because I didn’t know really anything about the game, including the basics it was hard for me to learn. I knew that should take this oppertunity anyway as any opportunity you miss is a instance you could of improved or proven yourself. I didnt let my general lack of knowledge stop me from playing, my solution was to study film and others playing as much as I can as real world examples are most effective at making me learn. Dispite my anxiety towards football I really wanted to play to make my peers happy, but it also introduced many people into my life who weren’t here before. Becuase I had the problem of not knowing anything beforehand, it let me dedicate more time to learning the game better, this connects back to the quote because I had a issue which was not knowing anything about football while playing it. Which gave me the opportunity to meet many people aswell as driving me to work far harder at the problem.
Problems should be seen as opportunities to grow, there isn’t anything negative about trying besides your own personality. The opportunities you miss cause more harm than good because you are not the better version of yourself you would of become if you had taken it, so what’s stopping you besides yourself?
